Practice
Ms. Redlich's interest in white-collar criminal defense developed during her federal clerkship in Manhattan, the venue for many high-profile business prosecutions. She handles a broad range of criminal and regulatory matters, with special expertise in securities fraud, tax and accounting fraud, insider trading, public corruption, criminal antitrust, sentencing litigation, appellate advocacy, disciplinary matters and regulatory proceedings.
Catherine is frequently tapped by corporate counsel to represent principals, senior executives, and employees of investment banking firms, brokerage firms, and hedge funds in state and federal securities prosecutions, as well as in civil enforcement matters and internal corporate investigations. Recently, she successfully represented the global managing partner of McKinsey & Company in a civil RICO action, and an executive of a pharmaceutical company in a criminal antitrust case. On at least five occasions, she has averted S.E.C. enforcement actions against clients with persuasive Wells Submissions to the Commission. Her clients have included former and current officers and employees of Nomura, Bear Stearns, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, Ernst & Young, KPMG, UBS, McKinsey & Company, McGladrey & Pullen, Novartis, and Columbia University, among others. Catherine also regularly represents attorneys, accountants, doctors, and business owners in investigations of state and federal offenses.
Experience
Catherine received her law degree from the Harvard Law School, where she was Articles Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and was awarded a Public Interest Fellowship. Following law school, Ms. Redlich served for two years as law clerk to the Honorable Charles S. Haight, Jr., United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York. She joined a prominent white-collar defense firm in New York following her judicial clerkship, and became its first woman partner before co-founding Driscoll & Redlich. Catherine is consistently recognized by Super Lawyers and The New York Area's Best Lawyers as among the top practitioners in her field. For over 35 consecutive years she has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer review rating, AV Preeminent, for legal ability and ethical standards.
