Cori Browne
Cori Browne joined Driscoll & Redlich in December 2006. From 2001-2006, Ms. Browne was a litigation associate in the New York office of a major international law firm. Her practice included a broad variety of complex civil litigation.
Illustrative professional experience prior to joining Driscoll & Redlich includes:
- Represented a major insurance company in a state court coverage action and a related contested bankruptcy proceeding. After an eight-month trial in state court, and several precedent-setting interlocutory decisions in both the state and federal forums, the client reached a favorable settlement.
- Represented a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission-appointed Receiver in connection with a massive and notorious securities fraud scheme. Worked on a team that realized a recovery of well over $500 million for investors.
- Drafted successful motion for disgorgement of $13 million in attorney fees due to conflicts of interest.
Since joining Driscoll & Redlich, Ms. Browne has been involved in many aspects of the firm’s criminal and regulatory practice, including preparing and representing witnesses testifying before a federal grand jury; drafting a sentencing submission successfully advocating, in opposition to the Probation Department’s recommendation of a sentence of incarceration, a non-custodial sentence; drafting a successful severance motion in a federal mail fraud and money laundering case; participating in the representation of a senior financial executive in civil, criminal, and regulatory investigations and lawsuits pertaining to the subprime mortgage crisis; assisting in an internal corporate investigation into potential antitrust violations; managing production of subpoenaed records; and trial preparation for a New York State prosecution of insurance executives.
An Oklahoma City Native, Ms. Browne received her law degree in 2001 from the New York University School of Law, where she served on the Editorial Board of NYU’s Annual Survey of American Law. She received a B.A. in English Literature from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 1996. After graduation from college and prior to law school, Ms. Browne worked as an editorial intern at a travel magazine. Outside of her legal practice, Cori enjoys yoga, photography, and commuting around New York City on her bicycle. |
